Welcome Back
Last year was a mixture of ups and downs, with some wonderful performances and some high winds, which sadly meant that our big attraction, Colourscape, couldn't amaze and delight. Still, we are nothing if not determined and this year we are back...BUT we have changed the date and some of the format, just to confuse you.
We have moved from May - when we could almost guarantee rain and we clashed with our splendid Food & Drink Festival - to September 11th, 12th & 13th. We have fingers and other bits crossed for balmier weather (no bank holiday so we should be safe!) and we have a smaller, but cheery, programme.
In each of the first three years we have tried to introduce new things on a ‘suck it and see' basis, and we have discovered that plenty of you rather like spoken word and poetry, would like a bit less classical music and thoroughly enjoy a lighter event, preferably with a bar attached...and we can't blame you.
So, we present our new, improved festival with the tentative title of VOCAL CHORDS, which, if you like it and approve we would like to grow and develop. We don't aim to compete with other larger festivals, such as Cheltenham, but we would like to think that we can put on a long weekend of events that entertain, amuse and stimulate and in this year of all years, we have done our very best to do it at the lowest ticket prices we could get away with.
